1864 Prairie Pocket

Made from imported antique cutter quilt Circa. 1900

A hanging pocket filled with Sweet Annie, a little prairie stump doll and 3 little lantern lighter candles. Pocket is embroidered with "1864" and is trimmed with buttons and naive stitching detail.

Prairie Dress Make-do

Stands at approx 18” tall and is made using a vintage stair spindle that I have placed on a stand, using an old upturned pie pan.

Display consists of a grubby dress, an over apron (pinned at the back like they did in Amish days) and is finished off with a antique cutter quilt bag filled with Sweet Annie and a grubby little church doll.

Jemima
Measuring 16" (40cm) tall this very grubby and aged cabin doll has been made as it would have been done in times past and filled with sawdust for a very authentic look and feel.

She is constructed from vintage flannel that has been given my aging treatment and has been rubbed bare in some places for that "antique" finish. She wears a vintage look fabric tunic with ticking pocket and a ticking headscarf (all of which have been extremely grubbied). In her pocket she carries sweet smelling Sweet Annie and a little prim nubby candle.

A very authentic looking doll that one would imagine having been dragged lovingly around the prairie by some little girl!

Antique Victorian 2-Pce Prairie Dress

Not many of these around nowadays...

A lovely example of a ladies two piece Victorian prairie dress c.1900's. This one is made up from a lined top and skirt.It is in lovely condition despite it's age but does show wear in the way of a couple of the original hook and eye fasteners on the front of the top are missing.

This would be eaily rectified and would not away from how it displays...simply stunning! The fabric is lovely lightweight and detailed and is typical for a dress of this era...the top features ovely pintucking detail.

I originally purchased this for use in my own display, however never used it as I found one I liked more.

This would look lovely hanging from your peg rail display, hanging on an old dresser or displayed on a manequin....

A gorgeous piece of early victorian history...

The skirt measures 40" long and approx 12" wide across the waist. The top measures 18" long

A pair of vintage long-johns that come to you from the states. These beauties button up both in front and in the little patch at the back.

They appear to be a small ladies size and are in excellent condition.Great to hang in your prim display. I have some hanging from an old timber ironing board that leans against the laundry wall....awesome!

Purchased from Ohio in the States is this vintage floral Prairie bonnet. Would look great on a hat block or hanging from an old pegrail or shelf.

Looks to be a ladies size bonnet, in good condition, with only a slight age mark on the brim that is not easily visible.

Antique Lace- up Prairie Boots

They feature what seem to be the original metal tipped laces and the soles and heels have been nailed on.Measuring 9" long and standing 7" high they appear to be a small ladies size boot.

They show the wear and tear of time and would be a fine piece to add to your prim display. They are reminders of the long hard days on the prairie.

For the purpose of the photograph I have lightly stuffed them with plastic bags, however they could stuffed firmer with tissue paper, which would give them a more filled out look.

I have a black pair of these on display in my home and they draw comments from everyone who sees them.

What a wonderful piece of history....Few and far between nowdays!

Aprox 30 bag (a little goes a long way) of dried Sweet Annie.

Great for use in your prim projects or even to hang from a peg shelf etc. Very difficult to get over here in Australia as it is difficult to grow with our hot climate, Comes to you in a sealed bag.

TIP

Dont throw away the fragrant shedded pieces.They are great to pop in drawer sachets or for rolling your candles in etc!

Aprox 50 bag of lovely soft PRESERVED Sweet Annie.The preserved Annie is a bit darker than the dried due to the preserving process. I have made this up in bigger bags than the dried and those of you who have used Sweet Annie in the past will know it goes a looong way when using for crafting.

Due to it being preserved it is slightly more expensive than the dried version. It will also not shed nearly as much as the dried! Great for use in your prim projects or even to hang from a peg shelf etc. Very difficult to get over here! Comes to you in a sealed bag.

TIP
My supplier from the states tells me that the preserved Annie, if dusty can be cleaned by "swooshing" in hot soapy water, shaken and hung to dry!!!.

The Preserved Annie will stay soft for years and will not lose it's lovely fragrance! It will brown if placed in direct sunlight.

A delightfully prim toy sack made from grubbied quilted calico. It has a jute drawstring that is finished off with two rusty bells.

On the front I have naively appliqued the word "JOY" using grubbied antique cutter quilt pieces from the USA and backstitched "Primitive Cjhristmas" underneath.

A nice large "pillowslip" sized sack.

Salem 1751 Witch Bucket

"When witches go riding,

and black cats are seen,

Filled with Salem witch stump dolls and handmade wicker brooms is this old rusted billy tin. On the front is a grubby fabric handstamped label.

The witches are constructed from grubby calico that has been aged and sanded and each wears a black burlap head scarf, tied with jute.

The gathering consists of 5 Salem witches and 3 wicker brooms. It measures 11" high x 6" wide. A great addition for your prairie collection

"from an early 19th Century Halloween Postcard~

Constructed from painted and aged osnaberg and dressed in a black painted fabric dress and hat is this little prim witch that comes to you courtesy of a Lottie Laychak design.

She has grey alpacca hair, button eyes and her nose and mouth have been naively hand stitched on, the nose made from painted and sanded fabric and the mouth from jute string. She also wears a handmade twig broom.

She measures 12" high
